Why Integrative?
To integrate (IN-TE-GRAYT)= to bring together, to incorporate parts into a whole.
Throughout my years of working in English Language schools abroad and in New York, I noticed one scientific truth that unfortunately is generally overlooked, and that is; There is no one brain that learns the same; what works for you may not necessarily work for the person sitting next to you in class.
Everyone comes with different styles of learning and with different brain design which is why for learning to take place effectively and efficiently, it is scientifically important to work with the WHOLE learner: working with your strengths, interests, goals, learning style, brain map and of course, their native language.
-
For learning to take place- aka for neurons to connect and build networks, certain brain chemistry and conditions need to be in place. With principles of neuroscience driving my instruction, I very intentionally design our sessions together around how the brain learns and retains language, most effectively and effortlessly.
-
Rather than eliminating your home language in your language practice, we bring back what you already know (being your native language) to make the necessary neural connections and associations the brain needs, to retain your target language
-
To learn anything and to reinforce storage of new information, let alone a language, the brain needs to be flooded with feel good hormone dopamine, which is why learning should be happening from a space of empowerment.
Therefore together we discover your top 10 strengths to better build your personal roadmap where learning materials and activities are tailored to your personal strengths and expertise. You will start to employ those strengths as a toolkit in/on your language learning journey.
-
Your interests, hobbies and professional niche is what makes up your curriculum, you tell me what is important and interesting for you and we design your roadmap fitting to your needs and vision.
For your brain to retain more efficiently, material needs to be relevant and personal.
-
Together we will also set your language goals that are SMART which means I’m here to guide on making each goal Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-Based.
